Hanover Park, Whippany Park High Schools Ranked Among 'Best' in Nation

Schools included in list along with 2,000 public schools with highest graduation rates, test scores.

Whippany Park High School was ranked among the nation's best high schools on Newsweek's "America's Best High Schools" 2013 list.

The list, released Monday, highlights what the magazine considers to be the 2,000 best public high schools in the country based on six components: college acceptance rate; graduation rate; number of AP tests taken per student; average SAT/ACT score; average AP/AICE/IB score; and percent of students enrolled in at least one AP/IB/AICE course.

Whippany Park High School was ranked No. 625 on the list. The school has a 97 percent graduation rate. The average SAT score is 1617, according to the rankings.

Hanover Park High School also has a place on the list and was ranked No. 575. The school has a 96 percent graduation rate. The average SAT score at Hanover Park High is 1596.

The highest ranked New Jersey school on the list is High Technology High School in Lincroft. The average SAT score at the school is 2113 and the school has a 100 percent graduation rate.
