5K Race/Walk Returns to Florham Park to Benefit Veterans

Second annual event set for Saturday at The Green on Park Avenue.

The second annual Knights of Columbus 9/11 Memorial 5K Race/Walk will be held Saturday at The Green in Florham Park.

The event will benefit service members who have been injured in the line of duty and families of those who have died. All other proceeds will be donated to Wounded Warrior Project and That Others May Live Foundation.

The run/walk is open to all and the race is sanctioned by the USATF-NJ and will carry Grand Prix points. The race begins at 9 a.m. at The Green, which is located at 180 Park Ave. and also home to the New York Jets training facility.

Affinity Fitness trainers will lead warmups and stretching activities before the 9 a.m. start. Runners and walkers can also receive a free massage after the event from Massage Envy.

A refreshment area is a new addition to the event this year for participants to grab a drink, food or rest before or after the race.
