Red Bulls Soccer Team to Build Practice Field in Hanover Twp.

New facility will have locker rooms, press box and bleachers to hold up to 700, report says.

Dove-tailing off the hysteria of the world’s most popular sporting event in 2014, local Major League Soccer team, the Red Bulls, will be bringing its practice facility to Hanover Township.

According to newjerseyhills.com, the Hanover Township planning board at a recent meeting gave the franchise a green light to build a new grass practice field with bleachers and field lighting to go along with a 7,500-square-foot building with locker rooms.

A press box will be part of the bleachers, which can accommodate up to 700 spectators, a scoreboard and two ticket booths, the report said.

The Red Bulls chose Hanover Township because of its proximity to Morristown Airport and its stadium in Harrison, the report said.

This is the second professional sports team to call the area its practice home after the New York Jets opened its practice facility and headquarters in Florham Park in 2008.
