Hurricane Sandy: Schools Closed Monday, Tuesday

Hanover Park, East Hanover and Florham Park schools will all be closed due to storm.

Children enrolled in public schools in Florham Park and East Hanover will have the chance to sleep in and catch up on homework Monday and Tuesday. The Hanover Park Regional High School District, as well as East Hanover and Florham Park school districts, announced all schools will be closed Monday and Tuesday due to Hurricane Sandy.

Holy Family School, Fairleigh Dickinson University and the College of St. Elizabeth also are closed Monday and Tuesday.

Gov. Chris Christie issued a state of emergency because of the hurricane, which is set to make landfall along the Jersey Shore Monday. Christie said residents should clear leaves from their drains and secure their belongings. New Jersey Transit began a system-wide shutdown of service Sunday, including bus, rail and light rail service. Many businesses in New Jersey and New York, including the New York Stock Exchange, will be closed Monday and Tuesday.
