Projected Winter Storm Moves Area Public Schools to Close Early

Public schools will begin closing after noon Tuesday; all after school and evening events are cancelled.

The snow is starting, and the East Hanover Township, Florham Park and Hanover Park Regional public school districts are taking action to keep students and staffers safe. The schools will follow an early dismissal schedule Tuesday in advance of the snow and extreme cold coming this way. 


The schedule is as follows: 

Frank J. Smith Elementary School

Pre School 3-1 - 8:50 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Pre School 4-1 - no class
Pre School 4-2 - no class
ECC - 8:50 a.m. - 1:20 p.m.
AM Kindergarten - 8:50 a.m. - 11:20 a.m. PM Kindergarten - no class Grades 1 and 2 - 8:50 a.m. - 1:20 p.m.

Central Elementary School

Grades 3-5 8:35 a.m. - 1:10 p.m.

East Hanover Middle School

Grades 6-8 8:05 a.m. - 12:45 p.m. 

In Florham Park, Ridgedale Middle School will dismiss at noon, and Brooklake/Briarwood elementary schools will dismiss at 12:50 p.m.

Hanover Park Regional High School will close Tuesday at 12:30 p.m., according to the district's Board of Education office. Whippany Park High will dismiss students at 12:43 p.m. 

All after school and evening activities in all three districts are canceled.
