Roadwork to Shut Major Rt. 287 Ramp Thursday Night

Rt. 24 westbound ramp to interstate roadway in need of 'priority repair,' officials say.

A heavily traveled on ramp to Rt. 287 will be shut down Thursday night for seven hours for priority repairs, according to the New Jersey Department of Transportation.

The Rt. 24 westbound ramp onto Interstate 287 in Hanover will be closed 8 p.m. Thursday night to 3 a.m. Friday morning, requiring detours in the area.

Maintenance crews will use hot asphalt mix to permanently patch the most serious potholes in the area, officials said. Motorists traveling on Rt. 24 westbound during the time of closure will be detoured at Exit 1B Whippany Road (CR 511) and will take Park Avenue-Cedar Knolls Road to South Jefferson Road to Mt. Pleasant Avenue (Route 10) and back to Rt. 287 north.
