Rec Complex Bond Law Up for First Reading

Construction of Florham Park's Elm Street Recreation Area is expected to start in the next few months.

A proposed law that would allow Florham Park to borrow money to build a multi-field recreation complex is scheduled for first reading at Thursday's Borough Council meeting.

An ordinance "Providing for the Issuance of General Improvement Bonds/Notes for Construction and Installation of a Multi-Field Recreation Complex" is on the meeting agenda.

The work session for the governing body starts at 6:30 p.m. and the regular portion of the meeting starts at 7 p.m. in the municipal building.

"We are proud of the way the final design will fit Florham Park's recreational needs for generations to come," Eveland has said of the Elm Street project. "There is something for everyone in this park: walking and running trails, hiking trails in the woods, a dog park, community garden and recreation fields and facilities for all sports."
