Florham Park Approves Corporate Facility, Despite Madison Concerns

$61 million, 265-unit building approved for The Green at Florham Park.

A $61 million, 265-unit corporate facility was approved Thursday night for The Green at Florham Park, despite concerns from Madison residents and officials.

The proposal for the Korman Communities to construct "The Ave," consisting of one- and two-bedroom apartments for corporate employees, executives and even New York Jets players, was not part of the original agreement in 2007, according to the Florham Park Eagle.

Madison Borough Attorney Salvatore Alfieri said at Thursday night's hearing the proposed project "significantly exceeds" the previously agreed upon height and setback limits for the facility, the Eagle reported.

Alfieri noted Madison officials did not oppose the development, but, like the residents who attended the meeting, felt it would have a "negative impact," the Eagle reported.
