Two Charged in Multi-Town High Speed Chase

One man from Irvington and another from Newark have been charged with receiving stolen property and eluding police.

A pair of Essex County men led police on a 90-mile-per-hour chase through several Morris and Essex counties Tuesday.

An East Hanover cop who says he spotted a white van breaking a traffic law in the Morris County town at approximately 11:30 p.m. ran the vehicles plates and discovered the Ford van had been reported stolen out of West Orange last week, according to a report on nj.com.

When the cop tried to pull the van over it instead sped into Parsippany then Montville then through West Caldwell and Caldwell before turning up a one-way street in North Caldwell.

The men in the vehicle then fled on foot and were caught and arrested after a short chase.

The men, Adin Laboy, 29, of Irvington, and Fernando Santana, 35, of Newark, were charged with receiving stolen property and eluding police, according to nj.com, and sent to Morris County Correctional Facility on $20,000 bail.
