The accident was reported around 10 a.m. The impact of the crash snapped the utility pole, brought down wires around the vehicle, and resulted in the car catching fire, police said.

Police officers and firefighters extinguished the blaze, and firefighters extricated the driver from the vehicle once the utility company disconnected power to the area, Florham Park Police Capt. Robert Treiber said.
