'Situation' Resolved in Avalon Apartment Complex

One person in custody after incident on Dixon Drive Tuesday night.

One person was in custody after what Florham Park police called a "law enforcement situation" Tuesday night at the Avalon apartment community.

No one was seriously hurt and no charges had been filed as of 9 p.m. Tuesday, Acting Morris County Prosecutor Fredric Knapp told NJ.com.

Knapp confirmed one person was taken away in an ambulance, but declined to comment further citing an ongoing investigation, the article said. Authorities began to leave the scene, but yellow police tape remained near the apartment on Dixon Drive.

Residents, who were warned earlier in the evening to remain inside, were allowed to leave their apartments shortly before 9 p.m.

Police had urged Avalon residents to remain indoors as they responded to an incident on Dixon Drive within the complex.

"The Florham Park Police Department is handling a law enforcement situation on Dixon Drive in the Avalon complex," police said in a 5 p.m. Tuesday alert on its Facebook page. "All residents are directed to stay clear of law enforcement operations and are urged to remain indoors until you are advised that the area is clear and law enforcement operations are complete."
