Authorities Investigate Wooded Area in East Hanover Neighborhood

A quiet residential road in East Hanover was blocked off Monday as multiple agencies canvassed around a home and a wooded area near Interstate 280.

First Assistant Prosecutor Thomas Zelante, a spokesman for the Morris County Prosecutor's Office, said the area on Phyldan Road is under investigation and declined to comment further Monday afternoon.

Phyldan Road, which is off Ridgedale Avenue near I-280, was blocked off Monday as investigators, fire officials and a K9 unit searched a wooded area, according to NJ.com. One resident said he saw a fire in the woods behind his home at about 3 a.m. Monday, the article said.
