Bear Spotted in Florham Park

Bruin seen running in the area of Brooklake Road on Tuesday.

 

A bear was spotted in Florham Park in the area of Brooklake and Beechwood roads and Sherbrook Drive on Tuesday afternoon and borough police are asking residents to use caution and report any further sightings to police.

Florham Park Police Capt. Robert Treiber said a Brooklake Road resident saw the bear run toward a park in the area of Beechwood Road, and there have not been reported sightings since then.

Police sent alerts about the bear on its Facebook and Twitter pages. The Florham Park Police Department can be reached at 973-377-2200.

It is probably the same bear we saw near Cougar Field in Chatham. It was eating a bird feeder on Shunpike Road. I was walking my dog and it took off when my dog began to bark. Scary feeling.
