10 Percent of EH Voters Turn Out Tuesday

Republican Joe Peluso earns 501 votes in an uncontested primary; Democrat Bill Salemme wins 140 votes.

Only 10 percent of East Hanover voters turned out in the polls in the primary election Tuesday, according to tallies released by the East Hanover Clerk's Department.

On the Republican ticket, Chris Christie won the most votes in East Hanover to run for a second term as governor. Angelo Tedesco and Laura M. Ali won the two seats on the Republican ticket for the General Assembly.

Ann F. Grossi won the most votes for county clerk, both in East Hanover and in Morris County at large.

Kathy DeFillippo, Tom Mastrangelo and Doug Cabana led the freeholders race with 356, 340 and 303 votes, respectively.

Christina Ramirez won the most votes for female member of the State Committee, besting Catherine McCulloch.

Giuseppe "Joe" Peluso earned 501 votes for the East Hanover Council and will go forward to the November general election.

On the Democratic ticket, Barbara Buono won the primary for the governor's race.

Donald Cesitello, Thomas Moran and Rodger Holman won the primary for the three available seats on the Morris County Board of Chosen Freeholders.

Paul Bontempo earned the most votes in the primary for the state committee as a male, and Shawn Laurenti-DeFazio had most votes in the female role.
